| 社会貢献（社会貢献・国際連携活動等） | 2025 Conference Chair, 8th Annual Meeting of the Japan Society for Human Healthcare Hosted the 8th Annual Meeting, featuring Dr. Jessica Wells (Emory University) on HPV vaccination improvement in HIV clinics and Dr. Megumi Ichimiya (The George Washington University / Godot Inc.) on promoting cervical cancer screening and HPV vaccine awareness through digital transformation (DX). 2020–2021 Organized and hosted online multicultural nursing competency workshops with University Hospital Charité Berlin (Germany), led by Ms. Ute Siebert, using Zoom technology. 2019 Presented research at the International Council of Nurses (ICN) Congress, Singapore: “The Implementation Status and Cost-Benefit Analysis of Health Support for Women in Japanese Workplaces: A Pilot Study.” Engaged in scientific exchange with Prof. James Buchan (UK) and Prof. Linda Aiken (University of Pennsylvania, USA).Interviewed by the Japanese Nursing Association; article published in JNA Official Journal, 71(11):76-81. 2019 Conducted international symposium at Juntendo University with China Medical University, Peking University, Peking University People’s Hospital, and China–Japan Friendship Hospital; presented research and engaged in academic exchange. 2015-2018: International comparative study on nursing quality assessment and remuneration systems Acomparative study of the UK, Canada, and Australia to examine how remuneration systems incentivize nursing quality was conducted. In the UK, interviews were conducted with experts from NICE, NHS England, and universities (including Dr. Lorraine Taylor, Professor Graham Cookson, and Dr. Frances Healey) to analyze the cost-effectiveness of staffing and guideline implementation and the role of HTA. It became clear that in the UK, the shortage of nurses led to a decline in the quality of care and an increase in mortality, which prompted the establishment of cost-effective staffing standards and a performance-based remuneration system to improve nurse remuneration. Further interviews were conducted in Canada and Australia on remuneration systems, nursing quality, and the relevance of mental health care. Professor Cookson was subsequently invited to give a keynote speech at the Japanese Society for Health Economics and Policy in Nursing, and the results of this study were published in the society's journal. 2012–present: International Research Collaboration on Fall Prevention Ongoing research exchange with Dr. Quigley (VISN 8 Patient Safety Research Center, USA) focused on evidence-based fall prevention and cost-effectiveness analysis. • May 21–25, 2012: Participated in a fall prevention seminar in Florida, visiting the VISN 8 Patient Safety Research Center and VA hospital to observe practical implementation of fall prevention programs and specialized outpatient nursing care. • June 16–20, 2013: Invited speaker at an international seminar on U.S. fall prevention practices, co-hosted by the International Exchange Committee of Juntendo University School of Health Sciences and Juntendo Hospital Nursing Department. • October 17, 2016: Presented joint research results at 33rd International Conference of the International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua) conference, based on the Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (C) project “S. Iijima, S. Toyokawa, M. Onishi, P. A. Quigley the effects of fall prevention interventions by adjusting for the risk of falling with a propensity score. • 2023: Facilitated the Japan visit of Dr. Patricia C. Dykes (PhD, RN, FAAN, FACMI), Research Program Director at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School, for a lecture on patient safety research. • 2024: Received expert consultation on the relationship between anticancer medication and fall risk. Research collaboration continues to the present. 2010–2013 Led student and faculty international exchange between Juntendo University and U.S. universities including Portland University and Oregon Health & Science University. Hosted international nursing leadership seminar with Debbie Buchwach, RN (USA) as invited lecturer. 2006–2007 Invited lecturer on nursing administration and health economics at Hebei Medical University Hospital (China), following appointment of former graduate student to nursing director/professor position. 2005–2006 A survey was conducted on staffing levels, fall prevention, medical safety, and economic incentives at hospitals, the Ministry of Health and Welfare, and nursing associations in Denmark. 2003 Following the publication of papers on hospital cost accounting (Iijima et al., 1998-2003), the director of Samsung Medical Center and Professor Jeong Hyung-chun of Yonsei University visited Japan to observe its implementation. I gave them a lecture on patient-based cost accounting and introduced and guided them through facilities including Mitsui Memorial Hospital, the National Center for Global Health and Medicine, and St. Luke's International Hospital. |
